Lip trend: Lip Butters

It seems that the world has gone crazy for lip butters! As the Summer approaches we’re naturally looking for more sheer and moisturising lipsticks that make us look naturally gorgeous. Sheer lipsticks have been around for ages, but most of us are put off by the high price tags… queue drugstore lip butters!

First came the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and the beauty bloggers went mad for them. Available in an amazing 20 shades, these lip products promise to instantly hydrate the lips whilst giving a strong colour payoff. Then came the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse, a very similar product, but available in 10 shades. These promise to give a delicate texture with luminous shine.

In my opinion, the Revlon lip butters are great because of the large amount of shades available, but the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse are more moisturising and therefore easier to wear.
Both are £7.99 and are available from Boots or Superdrug.

Have you tried them yet? Which one do you prefer?

Been waiting for the bigger companies to catch onto this since Avon did something similar a year or two ago – best coral colour ever! Hurray!

I much prefer the L’oreal Caresse, much more moisturising! I have it in the colour Tempting Lilac and I adore it! so easy to reaply with no mirror required! The Revlon Lip Butters need a bit more of a precise application.
