My top tip is an oldie but a goodie, drink lots of water to flush all the bad stuff out. I have to work really hard at this as I hate the taste of water!

Eat every three hours clean, light food. No frying, sugar, or carbs. And drink lots of water!

PS: couldnt stop at just one!

My top detox tip would be to treat your body like a machine! Whatever you put into it, you will get out of it. If you eat rubbish, and drink excess fizzy drinks and alcohol it will play havoc on your body and skin.
Drink lots of water to cleanse your body from the outside and then cleanse your skin with a water based cleanser to get your detox glow.
Daily supplements mean that you are topping up your levels of necessary beautifying nutrients to become radiant!

Heelllooo there!!! :D My tip for a detox would have to be: GET YOURSELF OUTSIDE!! Yes it may be cold, yes it may be dark, but trust me, being outside refreshes you more than anything, it makes the blood pump around your body and also it makes you feel rather smug!! :) Also, it may, just may, prevent you getting a cold from all that central heating!!!! :) hehe xoxoxoxo

My detox tip is white Tea and I swap my normal brew for it when my jeans are a bit snug. Like Green tea it’s packed to the brim with lovely antioxidants it speeds up your metabolism to beat the xmas bulge! Leave the bag in for maximum calorie burn! xxx

  16. January 4, 2013 at 12:03 pm #

My top detox tips would be firstly for the body by working from inside so drink lots of H2O & try eating healthily for at least 10 days for a proper detox & the pounds drop off too!!

For skin – a good exfoliater & a deep cleansing mask…personally I use Exfo-Brusher wash which comes with a brush & leaves you face feeling tingly & fresh after use.

For a mask I use Temple Spa ‘Purification’ which really sinks down into your pores & gets rid of any blemishs you might have.

A GOOD MOISTURISER…there is no law in beauty so everyone has there own favourite, but mine has to be good old Astral..Joanna Lumley swears by it & it’s about £4 a pot!! It’s quite thick & rich but perfect for dry skin AND it can also be used on the body too!!

Hope these tips helped! Thanks, Hanna xo

  20. Sam Clarke
    January 4, 2013 at 12:12 pm #

Cut down on caffeine, alcohol and nicotine!!!

Cutting down slowly, rather than cutting out stimulants altogether, is a more effective way to maintain a detox regime, claim naturopaths. Cutting down your caffeine intake for example, or making it weaker than normal, will stop you suffering from severe symptoms such as headaches often associated with extreme detoxes.

For alcohol, limit yourself to one glass of wine a night and if you are a smoker, cut down to a few before cutting out nicotine altogether.

Lots and lots of water, fresh fruit and vegetables, for two days- you will feel fantastic. Don’t forget if you are cutting out caffeine, you will get really bad headaches, but persevere , it’s worth it- Use decaf tea, and coffee, and drinks with no caffeine.

old style and simple but often the most effective, plenty of water, cut out processed carbs and things with false sweeteners in, i love my diet coke but notice a huge difference in my skin and appetite when i cut out stuff that has the sweetener in. Its also the time to undertake intensive skincare while your body pumps all the rubbish out your systems so i do a face mask every other day and add a facial oil into the routine.

Drink half a cup of lukewarm water everyday… boil the kettle pour and let it cool and drink.. my gran did this everyday all her life she had amazing skin i don’t think i ever seen her with a blemish, everyone used to comment on how great her skin was xoxox

I always drink a pint of water before bed and make sure I have a bottle to hand through the day as I find I’m more likely to drink it than if I have a glass!! I also make sure I eat plenty of fruit and veg either as a snack or as a smoothie as I find I’m more likely to drink a nice fruit smoothie than eat a fruit salad!!

  34. January 4, 2013 at 12:22 pm #

A facial steam. It’s so simple! I try to have a steam every week- it’s good not only for your skin but also for your throat and vocal cords and to clear your nose. Then, when I wash my face every morning, I get my flannel soaked in hot water then dab it on my face to open my pores before using my face wash. A very quick way to detox; you can see results in a few days!

    January 4, 2013 at 12:23 pm #

Drinking plenty of water is the obvious detox tip, but I also cut out wheat, dairy, sugary snacks and drinks, caffeine and alcohol (I cut down more than abstain from alcohol!). Dull, possibly, but combined with some form of fitness regime, I always feel great when I’ve done it!

  36. January 4, 2013 at 12:26 pm #

This one’s an old one passed down from my mother but is fantastic and so simple!
Most mornings I squeeze half a lemon into a mug of boiling water, sometimes when I’m under the weather I add a cheeky spoon of manuka honey which helps with winter coughs.

Lemons are a natural disinfectant which makes it the ultimate detox remedy, Packed with vitamin C, they also aid weight loss so is perfect to drink with meals as well. The fresh citrus scent of the lemon really uplifts my mood at this time of year too ^_^

  37. June Gaynor

Hot Water with sliced lemon as a substitute for tea/coffee. The Hot water alone is beneficial as it purifies toxins out of our bodies by making you sweat. Adding some lemon in the mix works as a combat of a number of health issues such as constipation and nausea.

  51. January 4, 2013 at 1:08 pm #

My top detox tip would be to drink some sort of herbal tea (if you find herbal teas a bit tasteless try the pukka vanilla chai tea, it tastes amazing!) and also get good sleep. I tend to have a relaxing bath and a bit of a pamper and find I get to sleep really well after that and wake up feeling really refreshed and feeling great.

A simple tip to help the average person detox is to replace every drink with water or water with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a week (obviously while eating sensibly). Even if you don’t change what you eat, the amount of sugar, caffeine and other junk you can cut out simply by modifying what you drink is huge, plus it’s simple and very inexpensive xxx

  56. January 4, 2013 at 1:22 pm #

I ditch the processed food and have lots of water.

For my skin I steam my face using a hot muslin cloth and put on a clay mask. I try to keep my skincare routine natural and simple.

Raw fruit and veg for one week with lots of water whenever I start to feel sluggish. Carrot, cucumber, tomato, fennel, cabbage, peppers, radish, celery, mangetout, gem lettuce, oranges, bananas, pineapple, berries, lemon juice, any green herbs and I also add pumpkin seeds. Loads of different combos or just eaten on it’s own. Freshly squeezed juices are great too, especially with beetroot – love love!

Detoxing is a load ot rubbish. The body is perfectly capable of getting rid of most chemicals. Only drug addicts or people who have been poisoned really detox. Cut down on alcohol, drink plenty (non-alcoholic) fluids and eat a healthy balanced diet (which includes chocolate ;) ) and you will feel better.

Then a lazy afternoon film watching followed by an early night. Spot on!

The main thing with detox is dermination and willpower ! If you are prepared to eat broccoli, cabbages, cauliflower and brussel sprouts – and fruits such as berries, apricots, papayas, red grapes and melons then you will have a successful detox! . You MUST also drink plenty of water, at least eight glasses a day to flush everything out of your system – if you dont drink enough you could feel worse than when you started.!

Drinking a cup of hot(ish) water with lemon before eating will give you a great start and drink plenty of water throughout the day. You can’t beat drinking lots and lots of pure, fresh water. Not only does it make you feel fuller, particularly before meals, but it also flushes out those naughty toxins!

I don’t like the taste of plain water so herbal teas are the way to go. Lemon with ginger is energising and revitalising, peppermint is good after meals and blackcurrant is soothing. A great alternative to coffee and ordinary tea.

It is simple and not original but drink plenty of water. I really notice the difference in my skin if I don’t drink 2-3 litres a day. Remember there is also water in fruit and vegetables, but make sure you drink plenty. Add lemon if you get bored of the flavour of still water.

There are so many products that people use to detox but one thing to remember is the humble smile. Detoxing the body should be an experience you ENJOY and should leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. So whilst drinking your water, Cranberry or Pomegranate Juice remember to look in a mirror and laugh out loud! If you don’t enjoy the detox, change product, action plan until you find one that invigorates you too

To be honest, the only real tip I can give would be to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Avoid caffeine & stick to green tea whilst you’re on it. These have probably already been said – but this is the best you can do in a detox :)

Warm/cold showers – 2 mins warm, 2 mins cold, repeat. Yes, it can make you shriek loud enough for neighbours to consider ringing the emergency services but it is so worth it! Gets your circulation going & your skin tingling, wakes your whole body from hibernation. You’ll glow :-)

I try to eat as healthy as possible, cut down on sugar and carbs intake. I take a good long walk every day if possible, go swimming and cycling every week. I adapt my skincare routine according to the weather, if it’s really cold I up my moisturiser use.
I also have a weekly facial and manicure, and go for a colour and trim at the hairdresser.
All together it makes me feel happier and ready to face the wait til Springtime…..
