It’s that time of year… that holiday you booked last year is now fast approaching and whilst your excited, the thought of putting on a bikini is just slightly (very!) scary. Well we have some tips so that at least your makeup can look flawless and gorgeous!
Not everyone feels comfortable with a bare face, we for sure always like to keep a bit of makeup on by the pool or on the beach. It’s a tricky task though making it last all day and preventing it from melting off your face. Here are some handy tips…
Always start by using a good SPF such as the Green People SPF 15 with tan accelerator and wait a few minutes before adding any makeup so the lotion can really sink into the skin. If you feel like you need to wear foundation, opt for a gel based foundation such as the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 as this will last better and sit nicer on the skin in the sun. If you’d prefer something a bit lighter, a BB cream would work really well. Our favourite is the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB SPF 25 as it feels so lightweight and really makes your skin glow. To add a bit of colour to your cheeks, try the Stila Convertible Colours as they are a great multi-use product and can be used with your finger for touch ups throughout the day.
Now onto the eyes and eyes really do make all the difference. If you want to add a bit of poolside glamour, try a Pixi Lid Last Shadow Stick which is a really easy to use cream to powder pencil. Cream to powder products are great for the beach as they’ll be more water resistant and will last longer on. For lashes make sure to use a waterproof mascara! You don’t want to end the day looking like a panda and our favourite it the L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara as it really lengthens and defines the lashes. The final product is for the lips and it’s a lip tint. Lip tints work really well as they last all day and give you a natural touch of colour and we recomend the Max Factor Lasting Lip Tint which comes in 10 gorgeous shades.
